Solgen Energy awarded tender for Townsville City Council
Townsville City Council has appointed Solgen Energy to install a 52.875kWp commercial solar power system on its Civic Centre. The Townsville Civic Centre is a facility containing Council offices, a public library and a café.
Through the installation of solar, Council aims to develop public awareness of renewable energy technologies and promote its utilisation in the community, in addition to reducing its own energy costs and carbon footprint.
The system will comprise 225 SCHOTT Polycrystalline 235W panels to cover an area of 376.5 square meters. The stystem is expected to produce 90 MWh of electricity each year, or the equivalent usage of 11 average homes.
